Well hello there, welcome to my little corner of the internet … Jessica Dawn Home. I’m excited to be sharing part of my life with you here. My intention for this blog is to have a “home” for all the projects, tips, DIY’s, hacks and just plain ol’ good information that I share over on my Instagram.
When I originally jumped into this blogging / social media world I was (am) running a small Etsy Shop called Wamp Designs, which also had its own small space on the interwebs as well … here. There, I created all things paper party .. invitations, cupcake toppers, favor tags, etc. While I have taken a small step back from this .. I still love a good celebration and any excuse to decorate. I will often share any of the ones we have going on.
When I became a mother I found that my passion had shifted, rather shifted back, to home decor ( i always had a dream of being an interior decorator) and then added in life with kids. I wanted to start making our large home more “cozy” and “homey” … for them. I’ve always loved that feeling when you walk into a home that is well loved and well lived in. You just feel instantly welcomed and comfortable, and that is the goal for my home.
I’m also a huge advocate for DIY … sometimes you just can’t find exactly what you are looking for. So why not instead, make it! It’s easier than you think and you’ll end up loving the spaces and decor more because you know you did it. Most of the time it ends up being less expensive as well. Most of the time.
I am mother of two. At the time I am writing this (Sept 2019) they are two and nine months .. a boy and a girl. I stay at home with them, so as you can imagine the majority of my time is tied up with all things kids … entertaining, feeding, cleaning, teaching, dressing, and, and, and. I feel like its only natural for me to share all those things too .. one momma helping out any other mommas that may need some ideas.
My husband and I love to travel, and for the average couple, do quite often. I had once asked my community on Instagram if they would be interested in me sharing our travels and I received an overwhelming response of .. yes! So I will be sprinkling some of our travels in here as well.
So join me on the crazy little journey and maybe something I share might spark some creativity or interest in you … if it does .. let me know!
