I really wish I was further along in the process than I am. I am a procrastinator though, I know this about myself. I will get it done, but it will be at the last minute. Something I’m trying to be better about … it all takes time.
In the last two weeks I was able to offcially decide that I am painting all the slats pink (like the wall behind it) and I was able to get the shelf up that will be in the middle of the wall. I ripped up a small amount of carpet and pulled out the staples in preparation for painting the floor.
Since this room is so small and has quite a bit of furniture in it – the floor will be an interesting task that I will have to work on in sections as I move things around.
As for the floating shelf, I was able to lay a 1 x 4 x 6 directly on top of my slats and nailed it on top of each slat. I used a small piece of molding to cover any imperfections of the slats not being completely even.
Now on to the rest of the slats and painting the floor. See you next week!
