About a month ago I wrote about what I was using essential oils for – SEE HERE. I’ve since been trying a few more things out so I wanted to update and share with you.
What I’m Diffusing:
I’ve been playing with a lot of different blends, mainly in the kitchen and I’ve stumbled across three that I really like.
4 Drops Purification
4 Drops Grapefruit
4 Drops Grapefruit
4 Drops Orange
3 Drops Geranium
2 Drops Northern Lights Black Spruce
3 Drops Lavender
3 Drops Peppermint
2 Drops Lemon
2 Drops Frankincense
Along with those kitchen blends I have also tried diffusing a new oil in Sebastians room. For about two months now Sebastian (3 years old) has been getting up every night and coming into our room. Not for any specific reason, just getting up. The first thing we did was get rid of his nap, it was sad but it was time. That worked for about two nights.
This past Monday I started diffusing Cedarwood in his room at night. Lavender has done nothing for him in the past. Now, I don’t know if its the Cedarwood or if its something else but for three nights now he has not gotten out of bed!
Also, interesting to note Lavender works well for Madeline but not for Sebastian. Now, Cedarwood is working well for Sebastian but when I diffused it in Madelines room she was up throughout the night. Again, I don’t know if one has to do with the other – just an interesting observation.
Speaking of diffusing in the kids rooms, I got Madeline a new diffuser and I LOVE IT. It goes with her room, has worked great and doubles as her night light.
I also went ahead and rounded up some other diffusers I came across when I was looking for hers – I couldn’t help myself, I loved them all!
What I’m Rolling
Last time we made a few rollers – one of them being a “Well” Roller that I rolled on the kids feet and spine every night. I have updated this roller to a Night Time Roller and included Lavender in Madeline’s and Stress Away in Sebastian’s. Although now I think I’ll put Cedarwood in his.
While not a roller, I have been trying out the Glow Serum. This recipe is from Nesting Well’s – 25 Things to Use Your Oils For. I’ve used it for about two weeks and I love it. I love the smell, it almost has a calming effect for me before bedtime. I also made some for my mom.
To be honest for me I felt like it was giving my skin a nice glow, but I did get about 4-5 pimples around my cheek area which is not common for me. I was testing this out the week before my period (TMI) so I don’t know if hormones played a roll in my breakout. I’m giving the blemishes some time to heal and then I’m going to try again. I’ll report back.
What I’m Randomly Using EOs For
Adding to my beauty routine I started adding a drop of orange to my toothpaste every time (almost every time) I brush my teeth. It is supposed to help whiten. What do you think?
Now, if you’ve followed me for any length of time you know that I KILL PLANTS. I always have the best of intentions but it just doesn’t work out for one reason or another. With the small amount of plants I do happen to have I’ve been spraying them with the Thieves Cleaner and I believe it has been helping them! I’m not expert, but it’s certainly not hurting them.
Lastly I did order the actual Fruit and Veggie wash from Young Living. Up until now I was using the Theives Concentrate conversion recipe. The only difference I see is that the Fruit and Veggie soak’s aroma is a bit stronger and there are some bubbles. I think using either would still work well.
