Here in Florida the weather doesn’t cool down till December .. sometimes January. However, starting around October we get some cooler mornings and evenings. (cooler meaning 80’s with less humidity) Last week I jumped at the chance to get outside and not sweat, so we went out for a walk at 8:30am and since it was still early we went in our pajamas and slippers.
Sebastian thought this was great, he loved that he had his slippers on and ever since he only wants to wear his slippers when we take a walk .. even those afternoon walks where its still pretty warm.
Since he was enjoying these walks so much I wanted to add a little more fun, I started asking him to look for things. At first we were just collecting acorns but then I started having him look for rocks or sticks or leaves, etc.
I don’t know if this is a trait of many toddlers, or just mine, but when you do something one time … it turns into every time. So this quickly turned into having to find these exact things on each of our “slipper walks”. Some even had to be collected from the same place – same bush of flowers, same patch of shells, etc.
As the weather is starting to turn for most, I thought this would be a fun little game to share with all our friends. I created this fun card to take along with you on your own “slipper walk” … see how many things you can find and collect.
Happy hunting for all your outdoor collections. If you do use our fun little card take a picture at tag us! ( @jessica.dawn.home ) We’d love to see what everyone finds.
