[…] we get to the accent wall though – last week, after cleaning out the office the best I could and stumbling across some of my old inspiration […]
I wish I was starting this post out with a ton of progress – maybe even my feature wall started and my new nail gun open and out of the box. Instead, I’m going to show you some of the not so fun, not so progressive work of cleaning out the space and starting to do trim painting. Fun right? I promise, these will get better as the weeks go buy.
Once I painted my bookcase, which is at the entrance of the office, I knew the next step … should have been the first step … was to clean everything out so I could actually get some work done in there.
Luckily I could put almost everything I was keeping in bins and stored away into another room once I’m done. The bookcases and desk have to stay. They were built in the room and probably wont come out until we have to move one day. Doing these floors should be interesting.
Once I was able to clean up as much as possible I got to work on trim painting. Currently the walls are Repose Grey by Sherwin Williams (as is almost every wall in my house) – but I’m wanting a more crisp look so I’m going white – Frost by Behr – except for my accent wall. But we’ll get to that next week.
So as far as progress goes, I’ve made quite a bit, it just isn’t pretty. Yet.
I did decide on some changes though, from my original inspiration board. You see, as I was taking down my old mood board today I came across some paint colors and magazine clippings and I was inspired. So inspired that I changed my ENTIRE palette of this room. While the projects I have in mind will stay, the colors, rug, and decor are going to be tweaked. Stay tuned for a new inspiration board!
