What is my update this week? Paint .. Paint, Paint and more Paint. The majority of the paint, three out of the four walls were painted white. I’ll just go ahead and apologize to all my white decor lovers – but painting walls white is quite boring. However, I needed to paint them white (previously grey) to make my accent wall pop!
BEFORE
AFTER
Before we get to the accent wall though – last week, after cleaning out the office the best I could and stumbling across some of my old inspiration pictures I completely changed my whole design concept for the room. Ever do that? Luckily I wasn’t so far into the progress that I had to make a lot of changes. Here is the new design board though …
That exact rug has been purchased and is currently on its way to her new home in my office! Ok, back to the accent wall. The first thing I needed to do with pick just the right pink. Enough for a good pop of color, that also went with the rug.
The votes were neck and neck between the two pinks but I ultimately went with the brighter peachy pink and well … at the very least I know my daughter loves it.
Next up is to take this accent wall a step further and add slats! Yes, a slat wall. Don’t worry, I’m spacing them out a good deal so that this bright color can still shine through – stay tuned to see it next week!
Be sure to check out other participant’s room designs too!
My friend Eric from @peonyandhoney also has a pretty gorgeous pink wall … check her out!
