Last year we did a full on homemade play dough sensory kit – this year I wanted to do something similar because there were such a great hit. I decided to make a little more condensed version of them and did Sensory Jars.read more …
This gift would be fun for almost anyone that loves to bake or host. It also could be turned into a very sentimental gift if you use a family recipe. I found my recipe artwork on Etsy, it actually included ten recipes and only cost $6 to download! Etsy is really such a great place to find unique things.
Today’s DIY Christmas gift is for the kids! Most of the supplies I found to fill the kits were at the Dollar Tree, including the boxes I put them in too! These would be great to give to a preschool class (where there are only about 10 kids) or to neighbors and friends. While this one was Christmas focused you can always make them just a generic craft kit with regular colored items. I went with the red, white and green for Christmas.
On to DIY Christmas Gift number five – an edible one! Now I wont take full credit for this one as it is a Martha Stewart recipe. I did however use cashew nut pieces instead of hazelnuts for the head of the tortoise – simply because I couldn’t find hazelnuts 🙂
This one is reminiscent of one of last year’s gifts (find it here) in that it is an essential oil car diffuser. This year I thought we’d make a cute one in the shape of a wreath! You can gift this with a little jar (or full jar) of an essential oil. Once hung in the car, the oils can be put on both the felt or wooden beads to diffuse throughout the car. Let’s get started.
I actually got this idea from my mom. Last year for Christmas she gave me an entire box of homemade coupons. We’re talking – “babysit the kids for the night” – “come empty the dishwasher” – “pick up dry cleaning” etc. These were mommy coupons, all the things I don’t necessarily enjoy and that take up most of my time. She was gifting me the opportunity to take it off my shoulders. So I thought one of my DIY gifts this year would be a template for people to gift coupons.
We are kicking off 2021’s 10 Days of DIY Christmas Gifts with a invigorating one! If you’ve followed me for any length of time or saw my DIY gifts last year, you know I enjoy using essential oils to create gifts. Today’s gift is a refreshing Eucalyptus Foot Soak that I’ll be gifting my gym friends – I’m sure their feet will appreciate it after runs, mountain climbers and burpees.
Our second Airbnb is up and running! When we first put our Lake Placid Lake House on Airbnb and we had no idea how it would go. We were so surprised that it was almost paying for itself, we had to do another! Mike is from Michigan and we visit there often, so it was only fitting that we try a house there. The Cozy Canal Retreat is officially up and running, you can book it HERE ON AIRBNB or HERE ON VBRO. Below is a look of the whole house, I even linked anything that I could
We’ve been enjoying our summer so far up here in our Michigan rental house, and hope to have it up and ready for rentals by the time we leave. One of the projects I worked on this week was wallpapering the guest bedroom. I knew I wanted to do something to cozy up the room and when Photowall reached out to me to see if I’d like to try their wallpaper I thought it would be a perfect place to do so!
