One Room challenge – week 4

What is my update this week? Paint .. Paint, Paint and more Paint. The majority of the paint, three out of the four walls were painted white. I’ll just go ahead and apologize to all my white decor lovers – but painting walls white is quite boring. However, I needed to paint them white (previously grey) to make my accent wall pop!

I think books are such a great learning tool for kids – and they don’t even know they are learning. I’ve known for some time that I wanted to try painting the tiles of my laundry room floor. Thinking about this got my wheels turning to also just revamp the entire laundry room. Which I have been doing for the last month. I saved the floors for last as to not ruin them while doing everything else. So far we’ve DIY’ed some Concrete Countertops, encased our Utility Sink, hung an industrial pipe drying rod, and installed floating shelves. But lets talk about the floors.

one room challenge 2020 – week 2

So this week I got started on my one room challenge with some DIY Chalk Paint and an old bookcase. On my inspo board there was a yellow cabinet that I LOVE. I thought I would recreate that look and feel by painting a bookcase I already had with that color. Luckily due to a DIY Fail last year I had the perfect yellow already on hand – Tassel by Sherwin Williams. I made my DIY Chalk Paint out of it and went to work.
